Mother Irini Mission
Assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me. - Matthew 25:40
Message from Fr Mark Attalla
"Dear blessed servants, the search for the needy and destitute is to see the Face of God. This service is not only a blessing for you but for the whole church. A kind word, a loving and compassionate look, a cup of water is never forgotten by God. May God bless you all for this wonderful service. Please pray for me."
Mother Irini Mission
Mother Irini Mission is driven by volunteers with a desire to serve the needy in the city fringe of Melbourne, Australia. Since 2016 we have approached some of the most marginalised in our local community to listen to their stories, share their plight, remind them that God sees them and to impart His healing words. Our vision is to be a safe place for those experiencing hardship and homelessness in Melbourne. Just like our blessed patrons Mother Irini, St Verena & S John we serve our Lord Jesus Christ through dedication to our brothers and sisters living on our doorstep. Someone has to be Christ to others who are crying out for just one word from His lips and just one touch of hope from His heart. We are called and we do it, simple. Please join us as we work and pray to develop this ministry for God's glory and the benefit of all. God bless you. |
Soup Kitchen
Our service commenced with reaching out to the people going through hardship in Melbourne with a heart of love and prayer. We are humbled by the level of acceptance we have received by the needy and other aid services. We now provide a regular soup kitchen and with God's grace we hope to provide a more comprehensive range of services including basic health and hygiene, nutrition, accommodation where possible and of course spiritual encouragement. Details of our soup kitchen are below.
